My name is Ed and, just like you, I am a dog owner.
From the time I was seven years old, when my parents reluctantly agreed to give me a puppy (thank you mom and dad!), I've been around dogs (four-legged ones :-) ) most of my life.
And while I am not a professional dog trainer, I do feel I can offer you lots of valuable puppy training advice and tips.
What makes me think I am qualified?
First of all, I am a full member of Association of Pet Dog Trainers (my member number is 73641). As a member, I take advantage of a lot of various seminars and educational events that they sponsor. I also talk to and exchange ideas with a lot of professional dog trainers. This keeps me up to date in new developments in dog training industry.
Here is something else about me...
Over the years, I had raised a Golden Retriever puppy, a Boxer puppy, two Maltese puppies and a German Shepherd (visit dog breed info for facts and care instructions on more than 120 of the most popular breeds).
I experienced many of the same problems and had the same questions as you are probably having now.
I also made a lot of mistakes. But those early mistakes taught me something valuable – I learned what works and what doesn't. I also learned not to repeat the same mistakes!
When I decided to create this site, I had three goals in mind:
- Supply you with quality, relevant information on puppy training
- Spare you from repeating a gazillion of mistakes that I made!
- Keep it "real" and fun
… and I sincerely hope that I succeeded with all of them.
Yes, even a new dog owner can train his or her puppy!
Feel free to browse the site. And if you have any puppy training (or care) questions or a suggestion on how to make this site better, use the Contact form to let me know.
